How They Work
The Advance Taser M18 and M18L are modeled after and use the same technology as Taser's Police model Advanced Taser M26. The Taser C2s also utilize the same technology as proven law enforcement models. As such, tasers have incredible take down power against an attacker.
Traditional Stun Gun Self Defense Products primarily operate in the 7-14 Watt range and interfere with the communication of the sensory nervous system of the attacker's body. However, a small percentage of people with a very high tolerance for electrical stimulation can actually fight through the effects of these weapons.
The Advanced Taser M18, M18L and C2 Models are EMD Weapons: Electro-Muscular Disruption. EMD Self Defense Products function in a more powerful 18-26 Watt range to completely override the Central Nervous System and directly control the attacker's skeletal muscles. This causes uncontrollable contraction of the muscles debilitating the attacker regardless of his pain tolerance or mental focus and determination.
The energy of the electrical pulses traveling down the 15 foot wires can penetrate up to two cumulative inches of clothing.
Anti-Felon Identification System
Taser cartridges all have unique serial numbers. They are also equipped with an Anti-Felon Identification System: Once fired, the Taser discharges 20-30 serialized paper confetti tags. Law Enforcement Officers can then retrieve these papers from the scene and contact TASER Intl. to find the name of the owner of the device
which allows them to track any potential misuse of the taser.

Activation Required
Once you receive your C2 Taser you must register it to activate it for use. Full instructions are included with your Taser but basically you can call an 800# or go online. It costs $9.95 and is a background check.
Before you can receive your M18 Advanced Taser, a Background check will be performed.
No one with a criminal background is permitted to register or own a Taser.
You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a Taser.
